How Long Does the Saudi eVisa Take from the UAE?

The Short Answer

Visit Saudi publishes no fixed processing time for the Saudi tourist eVisa for GCC residents. The official route is fill the application online, pay the fee and receive the visa online, with no embassy or biometrics. Delays come from eligibility errors: a residence permit with under three months left, a passport under six months, or a child applying before the parent. Apply as soon as your dates are fixed.

How Long Does the Saudi eVisa Take from the UAE?

The Saudi tourist eVisa for UAE residents is decided online, and Visit Saudi publishes no fixed processing window for it. The official route is three steps: fill the application, pay, and receive the visa online. Apply once your dates are fixed so a data mismatch can be corrected before you fly.

How long does the Saudi eVisa take from the UAE?

There is no official processing time to quote, because Visit Saudi does not publish one for GCC residents. Its visa regulations page describes the process as "fill the application, pay the visa fee, and get your online visa", with nothing in between.

The Ministry of Tourism regulations confirm the eVisa is a purely electronic route, applied for through the electronic platform rather than a diplomatic mission. That is why there is no appointment, no biometrics visit and no visa centre queue to plan around.

The decision is delivered online, and the only timeline you control is when you submit. Apply as soon as your travel dates are settled, and treat a clean, matching application as the fastest way through.

What slows a Saudi eVisa application down?

Eligibility errors are the usual cause of a delayed or refused decision, not the system itself. Visit Saudi requires a GCC residence permit valid for at least three months beyond your entry date and a passport valid for at least six months beyond your entry date, so check both before you start.

Family applications have an ordering rule. For travellers under 18, the parent must apply for an eVisa first, and the help centre confirms you then add first-degree family members from the same account after you submit your own application.

Two groups cannot use the online route at all. Holders of diplomatic or special passports must apply through a Saudi embassy, and the regulations tie GCC-resident eligibility to the professions published on visitsaudi.com, so a mismatch in your stated occupation can hold things up. VisaWadi's Saudi Arabia visa assistance checks every one of these points before anything is submitted.

When should UAE residents apply for the Saudi eVisa?

Apply as soon as your dates are fixed, not the night before. The visa is multiple entry and valid for one year from issue, so there is no downside to holding it early, and every stay is capped at 90 consecutive days on the live page and 3 months during its validity period in the regulations.

The help centre states the visa is multiple entry, valid for one year, and permits 90 days of stay, which covers tourism, family visits, events and Umrah. It cannot be used for Hajj, and the regulations bar Umrah during the Hajj season, so Umrah travellers should plan around those dates.

If you already hold a GCC passport, stop here: GCC nationals do not need a visa and can travel on their ID or passport. Our post on whether GCC residents need a Saudi visa covers who falls on which side of that line.

What happens if the Saudi eVisa is refused?

A refusal costs you the government fee if you apply directly, because Visit Saudi states the tourist visa fees are non-refundable in any case. Applying through VisaWadi's Saudi Arabia visa service changes that: the AED 700 covers the government fee and the mandatory medical insurance, and it is refunded in full if the visa is refused.

The medical insurance is not something to arrange separately. Visit Saudi confirms GCC residents obtain it as part of the tourist visa application, and VisaWadi's price already includes it, so there is no second payment to make.
