IRCC Processing Times for UAE Applicants in 2026

IRCC's current estimate for a visitor visa applied for from the United Arab Emirates is 44 days, according to the IRCC processing times tool updated on 9 September 2026. That figure already includes the time it takes to give biometrics. It is a forward-looking estimate that IRCC refreshes every month, so check it again on the day you apply.

How long does a Canada visitor visa take from the UAE in 2026?

The published estimate is 44 days for an application submitted from the UAE, as shown in the IRCC processing times tool on 9 September 2026. IRCC describes this as "how long we expect it will take us to process an application if we receive it today". It is based on how many applications are in the queue and how many officers are working on that type of file.

The figure is not a promise. IRCC also says on its after you apply page that it processes "most applications in a few weeks or less", and a clean, complete file is what keeps you on the faster side of that range. An incomplete application "may be refused", which resets the clock entirely.

Nationality does not change the published estimate, because IRCC lists the figure by the country you apply from, not by passport. What does change the outcome is the strength of your ties and finances, which we cover in our guide to Canada visitor visa financial requirements for UAE residents.

What does the 44 day estimate include and what does it leave out?

It includes biometrics. The processing times page states that the estimate "also includes the time it takes to give your biometrics", so you do not need to add your appointment wait on top.

It does not include the days before your file appears in your account. IRCC's IRCC Portal guidance says it "can take up to 5 days for an application to show up in your account after we receive it". Nor does it include the time to send your passport in for the visa to be printed once you are approved.

The estimate is refreshed monthly. IRCC says that for this application type "we update our forward-looking estimates each month", so the number you see in September can move in October.

Where do UAE residents give biometrics and how quickly must they do it?

You have 30 days. IRCC's biometrics page is explicit: "You have 30 days from the time you get your BIL to give your biometrics", and outside Canada you do this "at a visa application centre (VAC) by making an appointment".

Book the appointment the day the letter arrives. IRCC's own advice is to "book your biometrics collection appointment as soon as you can to avoid processing delays", and because the biometrics window sits inside the 44 day estimate, every day you wait is a day added to your decision.

What happens after the decision, and can VisaWadi speed things up?

IRCC states on its next steps page that "You can't travel to Canada until we put the visa in the passport you submit to us", so build passport turnaround into your travel date. IRCC may also ask you to "go to an interview" or "send more information" before deciding.
